HGB announces structural changes in new fiscal year

HGB has announced structural changes, including a reduction in workforce, to better position itself to be successful in the challenging economic environment created by health care reform.

HGB Community

We believe being part of the community means being an active part in making the community a better place. So HGB offers many community programs and activities to promote the health and well-being of our neighbors. This takes shape in everything from our support groups to babysitting classes.

In addition, the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act now requires non-profit hospitals to participate in a “community health needs assessment” by partnering with public health organizations and the community.

In December 2010, the Healthy! Capital Counties project began as a collaboration between the four local hospital systems (Eaton Rapids Medical Center, Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital, McLaren Greater Lansing and Sparrow Health System) and the three local health departments (Barry-Eaton District Health Department, Ingham County Health Department and Mid-Michigan District Health Department) serving Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
