- Breast MRI
- Diagnostic radiology
- Digital radiography
The newest services HGB offers are direct digital mammography and Stereotactic Breast Biopsy.
Direct digital mammography provides higher quality images than conventional screen-film technology. Younger patients with dense breasts can benefit from direct digital mammography services, according to a study by the National Cancer Institute. The study revealed that direct digital mammography is significantly better at diagnosing cancer in women under 50 and in women of any age who have very dense breasts.
Stereotactic Breast Biopsy provides an accurate and precise sampling of tissue from a suspected abnormality without surgery. During an SBB, the computer uses data from images provided by direct digital mammography to calculate the three-dimensional location coordinates of the breast abnormality.
Patients who are scheduled for radiological testing at HGB are encouraged to visit www.radiologyinfo.org for basic information about the specific test.
