Golf, Grilling & Guys’ Health

Booths open at 9 a.m. and  include:
•  Chair massages
•  Golf swing analysis
•  Balance screening
•  Body composition
•  Blood pressure checks
•  Weight Watchers for men

9:15 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.: Physician presentation focusing on the various screenings and health issues men face at the different stages in their life. The half-hour session includes time for questions and answers.

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Grilling and Beer Making or Wine Tasting and Skin Analysis. Instructors include Chef Justin Straube from Hastings’ Seasonal Grille and Patrick Sustrich, AL!VE executive director and president of the Tasters Guild of Lansing.

The annual HGB HealthFest is a fun-filled, informative and family-friendly event that provides a wealth of health information, screenings and resources to the community.

Everyone receives a "passport" at check-in, featuring a map to more than 50 exhibits and activities. There will also be several physicians from HGB on hand for conversation and screenings. Participants will be able to:

  • Check blood pressure and BMI
  • Learn about bone health
  • Check balance and grip strength
  • Learn about menopause or osteoporosis
  • Receive information about annual health physicals
  • Check cholesterol and blood sugar levels
  • Learn about new services for women, including breast health
  • Gain awareness about cancer and its treatments
  • Get information about smoking cessation
  • Learn about nutrition and pick up free recipes
  • Find out how to participate in free exercise activities in the local area
  • Enjoy many activities for families
