Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital is providing the greater Charlotte community with a free physician lecture presentation on diabetes management in recognition of American Diabetes Month. Join family physician Todd Otten, M.D., from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at AL!VE, located at 800 W. Lawrence Ave., in Charlotte.
Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States and, according to the American Diabetes Association, it is estimated 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes.
Dr. Otten will discuss all aspects of diabetes management, including what you should ask your physician, what risks, signs and symptoms to look for, and how to stay healthy and prevent diabetes. Attendees will be able to have free blood pressure and BMI checks, as well as learn information about durable medical equipment from Sparrow Medical Supply.
