Eaton Regional Orthopedics expands with addition of new surgeon

Eaton Regional Orthopedics with Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Nicholas Doman, D.O., as its newest orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Doman will accept new patients beginning Tuesday, July 17.

Dr. Doman completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, including rotations for pediatric orthopedics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and for orthopedic trauma at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. He earned his medical degree from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his bachelor’s degree at Adrian College in Adrian, Mich.

In addition to adult and pediatric conditions, including muscle and ligament reconstruction, arthritic and degenerative conditions, joint reconstruction and sports injuries, Dr. Doman specializes in anterior hip replacements and reverse shoulder replacements. The anterior approach to hip replacement limits muscle injury during surgery and has a faster short-term recovery time compared with other hip replacement procedures. The reverse shoulder replacement is a better option with improved outcomes for patients with certain injuries, such as shoulder arthritis or large rotator cuff tears.

Dr. Doman is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the Michigan Osteopathic Association.

“I am excited to join Eaton Regional Orthopedics and the Eaton County community, and continue to expand and build our local orthopedics practice,” Dr. Doman said. “We have an excellent team of doctors and we are creating a premier destination for all patients’ orthopedic needs.”

Dr. Doman and his family are moving to Charlotte, and looking forward to becoming part of the community and getting to know those who live in the region.

Community members will have an opportunity to hear from Dr. Doman prior to joining Eaton Regional Orthopedics at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 26 at AL!VE in Charlotte, Mich., when he discusses treating osteoarthritis for improved quality of life at a lunch and learn presentation. Sign up for the free event at (517) 541-5800, option 1.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Doman will join HGB and continue to grow our orthopedics practice and services,” said Patrick Sustrich, HGB chief integration officer. “As a young, successful surgeon he is bringing energy, new ideas and a wealth of talent to our medical community.”
