EMPOWER at AL!VE offers informational presentation on Functional Movement Screens

Miranda Moncada-Sullivan, P.T., D.P.T, and Derek Sanders, L.A.T., A.T.C., together with Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital’s rehabilitation services at EMPOWER in AL!VE, are pleased to provide the Charlotte community with a free informational seminar on Functional Movement Screens (FMS) from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 28. The presentation includes a brief demonstration.

FMS identifies deficits in flexibility, balance and strength, and can predict risk for future injury. This screen is also used to establish a baseline for movement capacity, and helps to identify pain and dysfunction.

“These screens have value to anyone who wants to be active,” said Moncada-Sullivan. “It creates a foundation for establishing proper conditioning, training and exercising techniques.”

To schedule an appointment for a screening, call (517) 541-5800, opt. 2. Screens are $12 per person or $10 for MOVE members.
