Free community event for men at AL!VE Sunday, June 3

AL!VE in Charlotte, Mich., is hosting Golf, Grilling and Guys’ Health between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Sunday, June 3. The free event for men features interactive booths and sessions focusing on healthy and fun activities.

The quick, half-hour sessions include classes, presentations, demonstrations and even a friendly competition with prizes. Booths open and registration begins at 1 p.m.

"We wanted to provide an entertaining event for guys that isn't just about eating right and getting enough exercise," said Patrick Sustrich, AL!VE executive director. "While those things are included, we also wanted to demonstrate that living a healthy lifestyle means trying new things and adding new twists on some favorite activities. And we even included a beer-brewing class."

There are two sessions scheduled during each time slot beginning at 1:30 p.m., including Grilling Techniques (It’s Not Just For Steaks), Kettlebell Demonstration, Basic Beer Brewing, Stress Management Class and physician-led presentations: “Healthy for Life” and “Exercise and Nutrition for All Ages.” There is also a free-throw competition with prizes, plus more. Attendees should wear comfortable clothes to participate in the interactive sessions.

Several booths will also be open throughout the event including golf swing analysis, body composition, nutrition information, balance testing and chair massages. Participants can visit the booths in addition to or in place of one of the scheduled classes.
