Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Troy Ferguson, D.O., as its newest general surgeon.
Dr. Ferguson recently completed his residency in general surgery at McLaren Greater Lansing. He has joined Capital Area Surgeons of Charlotte along with Hugh Lindsey, M.D., Jeffery Deppen, D.O., and Mark Jones, D.O. He performs a wide variety of general surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures, especially those related to breast care.
"Dr. Ferguson has a passion for patient-centered care and a deep commitment to team medicine. We are very pleased to have a doctor of his background and experience on our team," said Matt Rush, FACHE, HGB president and CEO. "In addition to general surgery, he will be an integral part of developing HGB’s Breast Care Center of Excellence, helping us further enhance and expand our women’s health services in greater Charlotte."
Dr. Ferguson received his medical doctorate from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from MSU, when he also played on MSU’s hockey team.
"HGB is a wonderful facility and I am excited to be able to help women in the Charlotte area," Dr. Ferguson said. "With the prevalence and increased awareness of breast cancer, we can give local patients more options to get the best care available at a multi-disciplinary facility like HGB that also provides the comfort and confidence of being close to home."
Dr. Ferguson lives in DeWitt with his wife Julie and their three children: Sydney, 5, Tyler, 3, and Abby, 1. He and his family are very active, and Dr. Ferguson is an avid runner and still plays hockey.
Dr. Ferguson takes appointments by referral through primary care physicians.
