HGB and Sparrow host free heart health event in recognition of American Heart Month and Go Red for Women

Charlotte, Mich. – Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital and Sparrow Health System are hosting a free interactive heart health event Tuesday, Feb. 14, featuring lunch, a presentation on cardiovascular disease, especially in women, and cardiac rehabilitation, screenings and educational information for the mid-Michigan community.

The featured speaker is James A. Schafer, M.D., FACC, from Sparrow TCI (Thoracic Cardiovascular Institute). He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease, and his background includes all aspects of clinical cardiology, including management of coronary heart disease and heart failure. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

The free annual lunch and learn event is from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m., at AL!VE, 800 W. Lawrence Ave., in Charlotte. Lunch is included when pre-registered by Friday, Feb. 10. For more information or to register, call 517-541-5800, option 1.
