HGB and Sparrow host free interactive stroke event in recognition of National Stroke Awareness Month

Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital and Sparrow Hospital are hosting the fourth annual interactive stroke presentation Wednesday, May 17. The free presentation on stroke awareness and prevention features Daneille Rhodes, R.N., Sparrow’s stroke coordinator.

Rhodes has been with Sparrow for 12 years, and has been the stroke coordinator for two years. Rhodes oversees clinical practice guidelines and protocols, and is responsible for ensuring the ongoing quality of care delivered to stroke patients from admission through the patient’s activation of a new chapter in their life. She is also part of the medical team that was instrumental in gaining Sparrow’s Comprehensive Stroke Certification.

“Being in this role is a passion of mine,” Rhodes said. “I am able to make sure that my patients and colleagues get what they need to flourish in a compassionate and competent health care environment.”

The free annual stroke presentation is from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., May 17, at AL!VE, 800 W. Lawrence Ave., in Charlotte. Lunch is included for those who pre-register no later than Friday, May 12. For more information or to register, call 517-541-5800, option 1.=
