HGB and Sparrow host heart health event in recognition of American Heart Month

Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital and Sparrow Health System are hosting a free interactive heart health event Thursday, Feb. 19, featuring lunch, a presentation on cardiovascular disease in women, blood pressure checks and educational information for the mid-Michigan community.

The free annual lunch and learn event is from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., at AL!VE, 800 W. Lawrence Ave., in Charlotte.

Joni Summitt, D.O., FACC, will present: “Cardiovascular disease in women: The bad news and the good news.” Dr. Summitt is a noninvasive cardiologist, board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and nuclear cardiology. She has co-authored articles for the American Journal of Cardiology and the American Heart Journal. She is also an assistant clinical professor at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.
