HGB expands volunteer opportunities to include roles at AL!VE

Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital has expanded its award-winning hospital volunteer program to include newly added roles at AL!VE, its experience-based, destination health park. Applications are now being accepted.

With more than 150 active hospital volunteers, HGB’s Generosity Guild provides approximately 85 shifts per week for eight different types of volunteers. This gives volunteers flexibility to make it easier to donate their time in support of their community hospital.

“We are inspired by the many remarkable people who donate their time to give back, many of whom do so while also working part- or full-time and raising families,” said Barbara Fulton, director of community development. “Our amazing Generosity Guild inspires others to give back. It was always the intent to have AL!VE volunteers, and we are pleased to offer these new roles with various shifts and the always-welcoming atmosphere at HGB.”

HGB volunteer leaders coordinate schedules to fit each individuals’ needs and preferences. Whether available for a few hours per month or a regular weekly shift, there are plenty of ways in which your service would be joyously welcomed, Fulton said.

As HGB continues to expand its Generosity Guild, the hospital has also begun creating an internship program in collaboration with Olivet College. By providing the opportunity for students to gain valuable career knowledge, HGB expands its commitment to the overall health and vitality of its community.
