Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital is proud to offer comprehensive breast health services to meet patient needs, including a Nurse Navigator program that provides one-on-one personalized care in a private, comfortable environment.
HGB breast health care can begin with a woman’s annual mammogram at AL!VE, 800 W. Lawrence Ave. in Charlotte. Journey is the women's health center at AL!VE featuring an inviting, pampering environment. Here you will meet the nurse who will walk you through each step of the screening and personally explain the results. If further treatment is needed, your nurse will work with a team of physicians and technicians who are dedicated specifically to your needs.
"It is important that each woman has a ‘friend’ in Journey who will be there to support her, whether it’s only for an annual mammogram or if more testing is needed," said Maureen Hillary,R.N., HGB Chief Nursing Officer. "The Nurse Navigator understands both the clinical and patient side, and can act as an advisor along with your doctor to help you make the best decision for your health."
In addition to mammograms, HGB also offers:
- Breast ultrasound
- Cyst aspiration
- Stereotactic breast biopsy
- Needle localization biopsy and sentinel node mapping
- Breast conserving surgery
Leading technology and equipment at HGB means more accurate, efficient and minimally-invasive techniques to ensure procedures are less painful and recovery times are much quicker. For example, the stereotactic breast biopsy can be used to test an abnormality found on the digital mammogram. It takes approximately 60 minutes, requires only local anesthesia and you are home the same day. Patients typically have results in 24 hours.
