HGB welcomes two new members to its Board of Trustees

Charlotte, Mich. – Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Sharon Kubica and Marty Latchaw as its newest Board Trustees for a three-year term. 

Kubica is a technology consultant and educational technology trainer who has lived in Charlotte for 40 years.  Previously she was the director of media and technology services for Charlotte Public Schools. Kubica earned her bachelor’s degree in library science and her secondary education teaching certificate from Western Michigan University. She also did graduate studies at WMU, Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University in the areas of transformational leadership and media technology and instruction. 

Additionally, Kubica serves on the boards of the General Federation of Women-Charlotte and Charlotte Public Schools Education Foundation. She is also a Mobile Meals and HGB Gift Basket volunteer. Kubica is married to MSU retiree, Gerald, and they have three children. 

Latchaw is the president and owner of Latchaw Financial Services, a full service accounting and financial services firm in Charlotte. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from MSU, and has achieved designations as a CPA, personal financial specialist and certified financial planner. He is also a registered investment advisor. 

Latchaw has been active with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 50 years, and is also an Eagle Scout. He has served the community as a member of the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department, president of Rotary Club of Charlotte, as scoutmaster and adult leader of Troop and Pack 45 Charlotte, as well as on the HGB Development Council Planned Gifts Committee. He is married to Sue, and they have three children and six grandchildren.

In addition to Kubica and Latchaw, the 2012 HGB Board of Trustees includes Fred Darin, OD, chair; Charles Grundstrom, vice chair; Denise Wheaton, treasurer; Kathy Tomlanovich, secretary; Thomas Eveland, Ed Dobbs, Robert Leeser, M.D., Lori Pray, Anthony Sommer, and emeritus trustees: Robert Fulton, Virginia Lowe and Richard Trumley.
