HGB's Breast Care Center welcomes new nurse navigator

LoniHayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital’s Breast Care Center team is pleased to announce the addition of Loni Allaire, R.N., as their new nurse navigator. As the nurse navigator Allaire helps coordinate patient care. She plays an important role in guiding patients through screenings and any necessary diagnostic procedures.

“I help assess patients’ physical and emotional needs,” Allaire said. “And I also help with researching and implementing resources during treatment to produce the best possible outcome.”

Allaire has worked at HGB since 2013 as a registered nurse in surgery and in the Heart Station. She also worked as a nurse at Allegiance Health in their cardiac and respiratory medical-surgical unit. Allaire, who is from Eaton Rapids, Mich., received her nursing degree from Baker College. Prior to graduation, she served as a volunteer in Haiti, providing nursing care in remote areas that had no access to health care.

"We are very pleased Loni has joined the Breast Care Center team,” said Maureen Hillary, R.N., HGB Chief Nursing Officer. “It is important that each woman has an ‘advocate’ who will be there to support her, whether it’s only for an annual mammogram or if more testing is needed. Loni understands both the clinical and patient side, and will act as an advisor along with the physician to help make the best decision for patients."
