The HGB Auxiliary’s “Tree of Love” fundraiser at Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital takes place in December each year. The festive tradition provides local businesses and individuals the opportunity to honor or remember loved ones with a donation to display an ornament in their name this holiday season.
The proceeds benefit the HGB Auxiliary, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the hospital. The Auxiliary’s generosity has helped fund clinical rooms, medical equipment and items that enhance patient experiences.
“The HGB Auxiliary is an ongoing champion of our community hospital, supporting equipment, services and experiences,” said Barbara Fulton, Ph.D., HGB director of community development. “The Tree of Love is an HGB Auxiliary tradition that means much our volunteers and our community.”
Mary Hall and Pauline Borgman, both HGB Auxilians, are this year’s coordinators of the Tree of Love fundraiser. Ornaments feature ribbons with the name of your loved one or honoree, and are displayed on the Christmas tree in HGB’s main lobby. Donations are $5 to display a red bulb, $25 for a silver bulb and $50 for a gold bulb.
Donations can be made between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, until
Friday, Dec. 21.
“Make sure to stop by The Gift Basket when you’re making your Tree of Love donation,” Fulton said. “It is also operated by the HGB Auxiliary in support of HGB, and they have many unique and fun gift items for the holidays.” The Gift Basket is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday.
