The 10th annual live life. Nspired. 5K Run/Family Walk takes place Saturday, Sept. 8, at Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital.
The event is inspired by Charlotte’s Natalie Freiburger who passed away in 2008 after a battle with ovarian cancer. All proceeds go toward the Power of One fund, a generosity initiative that provides initial financing and ongoing funding for community generosity endeavors.
The run is a flat, fast, USA Track and Field-certified course that runs through the heart of downtown Charlotte. The family walk is a stroll through the streets of Charlotte the entire family can enjoy. Registration costs vary by activity. The walk is free. The sooner you sign up for the race the more you save. Details regarding price and registration for the event are available at www.runsignup.com by searching for live life. Nspired.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m., and the race/walk start at 9:45 a.m. Special events celebrating the 10th anniversary include new prizes for all age divisions and special drawings.
Kim Freiburger, Natalie’s mom and AL!VE’s event manager and women's health liaison, expressed her gratitude for the support and success of this event over the past 10 years. “This community has come together in so many ways to help individuals and families during difficult times,” she said. “Our family truly felt that love and generosity during the time Natalie was ill. Now, 10 years later, this community is still giving and supporting. It’s not just about donations, it’s about making a difference.”
