Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital’s Annual Gala in September marked the fourth consecutive year that MSU Federal Credit Union served as the event’s Presenting Sponsor.
CEOs Matthew Rush, HGB, and April Clobes, MSUFCU, celebrate the collaboration in recognition of its positive local impact.
The HGB team considers its Gala as a “friend-raising” event, before fundraising. The event is held at AL!VE, the hospital’s destination health park that is open to everyone in the community. Like AL!VE, the Gala is not an exclusive formal event, but is intended to welcome the whole community.
“MSUFCU’s sponsorship allows us to keep the Gala at an affordable level and design a more casual event focused on discovery and inspiration,” Rush observed. The Gala draws hundreds of people, who enjoy creative experiences, great food and music, as well as opportunities to learn about innovations and collaborations at HGB and at its partner organizations.
“We sought to partner with an organization that shares our passion for growth, innovation and community relationships, and we are blessed to have so many examples all around us in the Charlotte area,” Rush continued. “MSUFCU stepped up in a big way and has truly made an impact over the years. We are honored to have their continuing support.”
Rush has served as HGB president and CEO for 18 years, leading numerous innovations from the development of new surgery, emergency and specialty services, to the opening of AL!VE. The hospital is deeply involved in ongoing initiatives to improve growth and healthy communities.
April Clobes, MSUFCU president and CEO, attended the opening of the credit union’s Charlotte branch several years ago and has been personally involved in the annual Gala sponsorship.
Clobes’ leadership and commitment to community have been unwavering and recognized not only by community members but by MSUFCU employees, who ranked her highest of any executive in last year’s Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces Leadership survey.
HGB and MSUFCU will continue to collaborate in the future through the Gala, along with other supportive regional sponsors, and in the community with the goal of continuing to support the growth of relationships, economic initiatives and the positive momentum building in Charlotte.
