Take some time just for you before the busy holidays at HGB’s Women’s Health Experience

Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Health Experience is an opportunity for mid-Michigan women to focus on their own wants and needs prior to the hustle and bustle of the holidays. The annual event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at AL!VE in Charlotte, Mich.

“This is a great opportunity for women to relax, learn, socialize, shop and even get some great decorating ideas prior to the holiday season kicking off,” said Jenny Wren, HGB director of women’s health services.

The sixth annual Women’s Health Experience has traditionally focused on five dimensions of health and well-being: do, eat, think, breathe and support. There will be several informational booths and interactive activities. And new this year, lunch will be provided to all attendees who will receive vouchers to eat in AL!VE’s café, NOURISH by The Big Salad, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., that Saturday.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is this year’s event sponsor. “Blue Cross is committed to creating a healthier Michigan,” said Suzanne Miller Allen, BCBSM director of community responsibility. “We support programs and partnerships throughout the state that encourage healthy, active lifestyles at every age.”

Women’s Health Experience highlights include:

  • · Speaking one-on-one with physicians about women’s health topics like 3-D mammography, Botox, skin care, hormones and more.
  • · Shopping at Playmakers Satellite Store, where you will receive a free gait analysis and shoe fitting.
  • · Exploring interactive booths featuring health information and screenings, holiday tips, wine tasting, cookie decorating, cooking demonstrations and more.
  • · Having the opportunity to win prizes during hourly drawings that begin at 10:45 a.m. (must be present to win).

Featured vendors include the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, SIREN/Eaton Shelter, YMCA’s Turning Point program, The Front Room, Barry-Eaton District Health Department, Charlotte Performing Arts Center, General Federation of Women’s Clubs – Charlotte and more.

Additionally FUSE, AL!VE’s medical spa, will be hosting an open house to showcase its new space with demonstrations, tours and incentives for scheduling appointments that day. Gift cards will be available for purchase to be used for FUSE spa packages and other AL!VE services. There will also be a retail clothing sale featuring items at 40% off to kick off holiday shopping.
